Villas in Capoliveri
The first villas in Capoliveri were built in the ‘50s and ‘60s of the last century, by German citizens. The small inlets located on the south side around the ancient town, offer a splendid, affordable environment that charmed so much the first tourists, that some decided to stay. In 2010, Germans residing in Capoliveri were 260, over a population of 3,700 people. During the first half of the last century, there were some villas in Capoliveri belonging to wealthy families from Elba, like villa Foresi in Lacona, or the villa of the Swiss marquis Tobler in Ripalte, but these were rare. Today, there are many beautiful villas along the coast of the municipality of Capoliveri, which are the residences of famous figures of the entertainment, cultural and entrepreneurial spheres who, together with rich professionals coming from the most important Italian and European cities, chose these charming places as their second residence. This type of villas in Capoliveri are not for rent, except for some which are rented during the bathing season by the heirs of former owners, who are not as interested in using them as residences, or by owners who just spend a few days a year in this location.
