The secrets of Elban wine: unmissable food and wine routes

Welcome to Elba Islandwhere history and good wine merge. In fact, since the time of the Etruscans, people have strongly believed in Elba as an island with multiple properties, even in the production of white and red wine that could differentiate themselves in what is the vast market of wines.

One of the best known is undoubtedly Elba Bianco, a white wine with a dry and harmonious flavour, ideal to accompany a good plate of fresh fish.

However, a good part of the land on Elba Island is dedicated to the cultivation of Aleatico, a dessert wine with purple hues and a fruity aroma that goes perfectly with the classic cantucci, dry and crumbly “biscuits” typical of traditional pastry making. Aleatico is in fact the wine that represents Elba in absolute terms.

But on our splendid island you will not only find wineries where you can taste their delicacies but also farms, agritourisms or simple shops where you can find other excellent typical local products such as Schiaccia Briaca, extra virgin olive oil, various types of cheeses and even jams and honey much appreciated by those with a sweet tooth.

As you will have understood, our island has managed to make a name for itself over the years on all fronts and not only as a destination to visit for its breathtakingly colored waters.
